Malawi Pool Association of Malawi (Mapa) former general secretary Rashid Ntelela has been appointed general secretary for Civo United.

Ntelela confirmed the news on Tuesday, saying he has been appointed to serve a two-year term alongside Osman Fatch and Thomas Makiwa as chairperson and treasurer respectively.

Civo’s chairperson, treasurer and general secretary are appointed by the Office of President and Cabinet (OPC).

Ntelela is patron/player of Adventures Pool Team that plays in Central Region Pool League (CRPL).

“The envisioned challenges include funding, utilisation of resources (gate collections, ground levies, and others), motivation of prayers and technical staff. My goals are to fully utilise resources at the disposal of the club for revenue generation to supplement the subvention from the sponsors,” said Ntelela.

He holds a master’s in public administration (MPA) from University of Fort Hare, bachelor of social sciences (Economics) from University of Malawi and several professional certificates in administration, management, finance; and project management.

At its recent AGM, Civo United elected Central Region Football League (CRFL) chairperson Dean Josiah-Banda as its vice-chairperson.

Charles Gwengwe was elected vice-general secretary whereas Nelson Ngalonde, Zinyemba Soko and Owen Malijani as executive members.
