Police in Ndirande, Blantyre, have arrested four people who were allegedly terrorising Ndirande Township. Southern Region Police spokesperson Nicholas Gondwa identified the suspects as Robert Makolo, 35, Lastone Sizali Mtambo, 29, Mackson Kaloje Namapampu, 28, and Jack Misoya, 24. Gondwa said Makolo was arrested first following a complaint from a resident in the township, James Makawa, that robbers stole assorted items from his house. “When the complaint was made, people tipped off the police of somebody from Chemusa Township who had been stealing from people in Ndirande. When police went to his house, they found the items that were stolen from Makawa’s house,” he said. —MERCY MALIKWA, Staff Reporter
