Gospel musician George Mkandawire, who is based in Zambia and has been inactive for some years, returns to Malawi for a joint show with gospel artist Madalitso Kalikokha, popular by the moniker mAdA on October 5 at Robin’s Park.

Mkandawire will not be the only wonder at the show as Lulu will also perform in support of the launch.

In an interview, mAdA said he roped in Mkandawire because he is a unique gospel artist who added value to Malawian gospel music during his peak.

“George is a fine artist and it will be a blessing to have him back on stage at my launch and Lulu is also a brilliant performer, but what most people do not know is his Christian side, so it is an opportunity for people to appreciate that,” said the Ndi One artist.

Lulu told The Nation that he decided to perform at the show to reach out to some of his fans that enjoy his gospel songs, but are unable to watch him on stage.

“There are people that enjoy songs like Pemphero Langa, but cannot patronise my shows as sometimes we perform at night clubs. So, this is Lulu and Mathumela reaching out to them,” said Lulu.

He said since the show is different from his usual, he has changed the arrangement to make sure it fits the audience.
