The sponsorship marks the continuation of the embassy’s partnership with Music Crossroads and the children involved for the second year running.
“Hear Us is a project aiming at reaching out to children in public schools as well as in private schools. Its objective is building up artistic skills of children through the learning of folk music, dance and theatre,” reads a press statement, signed by Music Crossroads director of music Matthews Gayighayi Mfune and Head of the Cultural Department of the German Embassy Cornelia Aust.
According to the statement, this year’s edition will hinge on Aids Awareness – teaching different life skills to empower children with optimum options for their society and future.
The sponsorship cheque was officially handed over to the organisers on Thursday in Lilongwe.
