A five-member Malawi golf team leaves the country tomorrow for Zambia to take part in the Africa Golf Confederation (AGC) President’s Cup pencilled for Nkana Golf Club.

According to Golf Union of Malawi (GUoM) president Gabriel Kambale, the four golfers who will be accompanied by national coach Chris Kachiguma are Victor Kachepatsonga, Adam Sailesi, Paul Chidale and Stanford Mayuni.

The golfers were chosen after the tournament that was played at Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC) last week in which only those that play off 10 handicap and below were eligible to take part.

According to Kambale, the tournament to be played from September 27 to October 3 will comprise 16 nations, including the hosts.

“The team will depart on Saturday and the following day (Sunday) will be for registration then Monday will be specifically for practice before the tournament tees off on Tuesday,” said Kambale.

Chidale said they are determined to do well at the showcase that will bring together some of the finest golfers on the continent.

“It provides us an opportunity to showcase our skills to a wider audience,” said Chidale.
