Govt to construct 50 000 ECD centres

Malawi’s Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare Patricia Kaliati has said government will construct 50 000 early childhood development (ECD) centres countrywide.

Speaking on Wednesday in Lilongwe at a media briefing for this year’s early childhood development awareness week, Kaliati said the development is in response to the need for more centres as about 2 million children have no access to such facilities.— YVONNIE SUNDU, Staff Reporter
