Golf Union of Malawi (GUoM) will hold its elective annual general meeting (AGM) this Friday at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC).

“I have done my part and it is time to pave the way for others.

“I am bowing out a happy man having been part of the committee that rolled out the junior gold development project,” he said.

However, Kambale said as of yesterday, they were yet to compile the list of contestants through the golf clubs.

Kuyeri said apart from the elections, the agenda of the AGM includes receiving written credentials from member clubs, matters arising, president’s report, receiving and adopting the accounts for the year.

“It will also include determining rate of subscription for the ensuing year, clubs or organisations applying for membership, dates and venues for GUoM competitions and any further business,” he said.

Apart from Kambale and Kuyeri, other GUoM executive council members were vice-president Frank Mvalo, honorary treasurer Sheriff Chisamya, club representative (South) Chimdima Mhango and club representative (Centre) Dan Mvula.

According to GUoM constitution, the elected president appoints fixtures secretary, rules and handicap secretary, commercial director and the council membership is completed by a representative from Junior Golf Development Committee and senior golfers representative. n
