Silver Strikers Football Club say their midfielder Green Harawa will join Extension Gunners in Botswana in January when the transfer window opens.

Silver treasurer Fred Kalonga—who has been handling the transfer talks on behalf of his club—said they could not conclude the deal before close of the transfer because of outstanding issues.

He said Harawa is due to arrive today from Botswana where he underwent trials at the club.

“He could have joined them, but then they wanted to sign him as a free agent to meet Fifa transfer rules. However, we did not agree to that because there was no benefit. It’s not that we are standing in the player’s way. We want the best for him and also for the club,” said Kalonga.

Silver wanted K6 million for Harawa, but Kalonga could not say what amount they have agreed on.

In the meantime, Kalonga said the player is up for selection in a TNM match against Chikwawa United on Saturday in Lilongwe.

Silver has been defending the league for four seasons now.
