In an interview, an excited Hazel said the deal shows how much she is growing as an artist and the appreciation of what she is doing.

“I’m so excited to announce the latest development in my career! A brand ambassador for Romeo Hygienix Soap by Trade Kings. Try out the soap. You can get it at your local supermarket! Trust me you won’t regret.”

She said the deal is about advertising the brand in Malawi and fulfilling her obligations as an ambassador.

“On the other hand, that helps with brand visibility on my part,” she said.

Trade Kings Group media manager James Songwe said the artist has been given the role as result of her achievements in the industry plus the companies “aim of enabling female entrepreneurs, professionals and investors to share experiences and interact under a single roof.”

“As you know, Hazel Mak is a multi-award-winning artist from Malawi, ‘The Warm Heart Of Africa’. Trade Kings in Malawi have identified brand alignment with the star as brand ambassador on the basis of her ability to lead and influence through music and her voice.

Meanwhile, Hazel Mak recently performed at the Victoria Falls Festival in Zimbabwe.

“It was amazing and the crowd was insane and they loved the music. The festival was well organised and Zimbabwe was welcoming. I’ve learnt that team work is everything and opportunities like this give you the urge to work for something greater. The moment I finished performing, it felt like winning an Afrima,” she said.

While in Zimbabwe, she took time to work on three songs and shoot two videos.

“The first song is called Katakwe which features Zimbabwe’s Exq, which I’ll be releasing as my first single of the year in the next couple of weeks. I also worked with a neo soul artist called Rebel and we shot a video for our single called Eyes. It should be out soon,” she said. n
