Honesty, Pathway To Holiness And Key To Healthy Relationships (15)

Listen to this article

Today, we will consider six of God’s truths. May you meditate on them to renew your mind:

  1. My worth as a person is based on what God says about me-   1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.   Ephesians 2:10; We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has beforehand ordained that we should walk in them.
  2. Knowing that God accepts and approves of me will make me feel good about myself , Ephesians 1:6 ; To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He has made us accepted in the beloved
  3. Just as fellowship, affirmation and acceptance are part of a healthy relationship, so too is conflict. Real, honest relationship involves conflict or disagreement—John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you might have peace. In this world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world
  4. Success in this life without God will not produce happiness or peace—   Mark 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. Matthew 16:26; For what shall in profit man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
  5. Talking about the hurt rather than withdrawing from the relationship will bring about reconciliation and will strengthen the bond— Matthew 5:23,24; Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you; leave your gift before the altar and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
  6. Real honesty and the vulnerability it produces draws God and others closer to us – James 4:8; Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.   Psalms 15:1-3; Lord who shall abide in your tabernacle? Who shall dwell in Your holy hill? He that walks upright, and works righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart. He that does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbour.

I pray you will begin to embrace the biblical truth there above. Remember, your value is based solely on WHOSE you are! You are a daughter of the most high God!
