If I were

If I were Peter Mutharika

President of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), I would take time to conduct some soul-searching on what a member of my party Saulos Chilima, who also happens to be the Vice-President of the country, said during the rally held in Ndirande on Sunday that there are internal problems within the party.

If only I were APM, I would take seriously what SKC said because for him to come out in the open and say that njoka saweta (snakes cannot be tamed) at a public rally, shows that things are not well within the party; hence, the need for my intervention.

How I wish I were my good professor, I would have at least commented on Chilima’s sentiments other than telling the gathering that the reason I liked Ndirande Township in the good ‘ole days was because “kunali ma bottlestore ambiri”.

Oh yes, if I were my man Peter, I would accept the harsh reality that there is smoke rising in my party’s chimney. Knowing there can be no smoke without fire, I would go deeper to quell that fire.

If I were the DPP leader, I would summon my Veep to clearly explain what he meant with his cryptic proverb. That is if only I were president of the DPP, unfortunately I am just a mere scribe that is Garry Chirwa. DPP Woyeeee!!! Chala m’mwamba Chala m’mwamba. Ndasangalala kwambriiiii !!!
