Inspector General (IG) of the Malawi Police Service (MPS) Lexten Kachama has said people who are attacking persons with albinism in the country will face stiffer penalties once caught.

He was speaking in Chikwawa on Monday when he visited the home of two boys with albinism who were attacked in the wee hours of Friday last week.

Kachama said it is time Malawians start thinking reasonably, stressing that no one has gotten rich by using body parts of people with albinism.

Member of Parliament for Chikwawa South, Ellias Karim, said it is sad that people still believe in such misconceptions in these times.
