The country’s top movie producer, ShemuJoyah, says he is negotiating with international firms to sell his two movies, The Last Fishing Boat and Seasons of a Life, online.

“We have sent applications to various firms and we are just waiting for a response and we are pretty sure soon enough we will be ready to sell on Amazon and other online portals,” said the award-winning director yesterday.

Joyah said currently, The Last Fishing Boat is doing well on the local market with most outlets that are selling the movie placing more orders.

“We never thought this could have been the response, but we have been overwhelmed by orders from our distributors,” says Joyah.

He also adds that he has been pressured to put back Seasons of a Life on the market as orders of it kept trekking from their distributors.

“I think this demand has been created by the fact that once people watch The Last Fishing Boat they want more from First Dawn Arts,” says the First Dawn Arts director.

The Last Fishing Boat is selling at K2 000 (US$5) while Seasons of a Life sells at K1 500 (US$4) and both movies are available in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu.
