Joyce Banda, Kachali, Chilumpha, Mia through

As voting continues at the Malawi’s ruling People’s Party (PP) national conference in the commercial city of Blantyre, President Joyce Banda and Vice-President Khumbo Kachali have sailed through unopposed.

 

Energy and Mining Minister Cassim Chilumpha has made it as the party’s second-vice president defeating Clement Stambuli and Uladi Mussa while Minister of Transport and Public Works Sidik Mia is PP’s third vice-president. He has defeated the party’s outgoing treasurer general Brown Mpinganjira.
