Kapisa back with The Wall

After storming the world with a documentary of a child-headed family in times of HIV and Aids, South Africa-based filmmaker Kapisa Kalumbu is back in the limelight with the release of another feature bringing to the screen the dilemmas on the other side of life in Johannesburg.

The Grown Too Quick moviemaker this week took to the mini-blogging site, Facebook, to announce the release of another film The Wall.

According to the site, the new release co-stars South Africa’s emerging actors—Leroy Gopal and Noni Dumbuzana—in a story of Timothy who migrates to the city of gold in search of greener pastures, but, of all jobs on the wall turned notice board becomes a guard.

But in this Kwacha Media production, which aired on Mzasi magic lately , Kapisa doubles as director and associate producer. The soundtrack is done by Bafana Dhlamini.

Only time will tell if the newborn will make it to the elite Al Jazeela Documentary Film Festival where the thought-provoking first premiered early this year. Here are the pictures from behind the scenes.—James Chavula, Staff Writer
