Karonga Vendors avenge loss

Listen to this article

Karonga Vendors on Sunday beat Lunyangwa Research 4-1 in the K2 million (about $8 000) Simama Premier League at Mzuzu Stadium.

Bernard Msisya scored a brace while a goal each from Donald Zgambo and Matthews Mwawembe helped the Karonga boys to take their tally to 10 points from four games.

The researchers, who were outclassed for a better part of the game, scored their consolation goal through Saidi Msisya.

Last week, Lunyangwa beat Kawaza 3-0, but things could not work out this time around. Their team manager Black Masebo blamed the loss on poor coordination of the players and bluntness of their forwards.

“I am impressed that despite the long journey from Karonga, we still managed to beat Mzuzu teams and we will fight on,” said Karonga Vendors coach Rudo Nyirenda.

Lunyangwa have three points from two games.
