Estiner Katengeza unveils her second album at a giant’s gospel clash in Blantyre this week.

The Zili Bwino gospel sensation is destined for an encounter with Malawian Music Awards best female artist Ethel Kamwendo-Banda and reigning bestseller Thocco Katimba during the launch of Ndamasulidwa at Robin’s Park, Kwacha Roundabout, on Sunday.

In an interview on Thursday, Katengeza unpacked her new offering–saying it testifies to the freedom God has lavished upon her since the Zili Bwino debut album in 2009.

“In music, there is content for every season. For me, this is a season of freedom. My voice on Ndamasulidwa rightly captures the mood and maturity I have attained since Zilibwino,” she said.

The album was recorded at Gracium Mokwena’s Itume Records in the commercial capital. Among other things, it contains six Chichewa tracks and four English ones –all seeping with an aura of spiritual emancipation.

Unlike the previous compilation which went on the market earlier than its official unveiling at French Cultural Centre on July 4 2010, Ndamasulidwa will be unleashed at the grand launch.

“To mark the commencement of sales, I will auction the first CDs containing the video of the house single Sindidzakusiyani which is already enjoying airplay on MBC TV,” said the soulful artist, who is also a lecturer in physics at University of Malawi’s College of Medicine.

The compilation is a collage of genres from blues to soft imports from South Africa. So is the playlist at its official coming, where Frank Chimpazi, Princess Chitsulo , Khama Khwiliro and Enock Pirimita will star alongside Kamwendo-Banda and Katimba.
