The last two semi-finalists of the K1 million (about $4 000) Justice Katika trophy for Bangwe Township and the surrounding areas will be decided on Sunday.

Mvula Barracks will face Ntopwa United whereas Mthandizi All Stars will play Mbayani FC to find the two teams that will join Ntopwa One and Mbuzi Swallows in the semi-finals.

Both games will be played on Sunday at Desert ground in Bangwe.

Last weekend, Ntopwa One beat Zathu Rangers 3-1 while Swallows beat Clinic Veterans 1-0 to book places in the last four.

The competition’s organising chairperson Basiyano Bauleni said everything is going according to plan and they will finish the competition as scheduled.

“I have to thank the teams for their cooperation as well as the sponsors for timely release of resources that have seen us move according to plan.

“We have witnessed some good football with a blend of young talent and retired Super League greats, which is making the games exciting,” said Bauleni.

Katika said he is impressed with the organisation of the cup that attracted over 60 teams.
