Kumbu releases two gospel songs

Kumbukani Milundo who is popularly known by the moniker Kumbu, has started his gospel music career with songs Sanalore and Mtima Wanga from his upcoming untitled debut album.

The Wakwiya Ndi Mfiti hitmaker has recorded the songs at Lohay Studios in Blantyre by Steve Meleka.

In Sanalore, the artist talks about a dead loved one, saying that they will meet again. The song has an acoustic touch to it with harmonies that blend well with the beat.

Mtima Wanga is a song that talks about surrendering to Christ by leaving a sinful life for a newly found faith.

While maintaining his style, Kumbu drags the tempo a little slower than he used to.

In an interview with The Nation, Kumbu said he is overwhelmed by the support he is receiving from fellow artists and his fans.

“I do not take my fans for granted. They are amazing. I have performed a few shows and they have shown me nothing but love. I feel so encouraged,” he said.

The musician said he feels he belongs to gospel music and promised to keep on singing for God.

“I do not care whether people judge me. But I will sing for the Lord and I will not stop,” said the artist.

Kumbu rose to stardom in 2009 when he released Wakwiya ndi Mfiti and Udzandimenyetsa Ndewu. In 2010 he signed with Black Rhino Records but left the label in 2012 without releasing any album.
