TNM Super League leaders Blue Eagles get a stern test this afternoon when they host Mighty Wanderers at Nankhaka in the Capital City.

The cops will be looking forward to maintaining their unbeaten run having won three and drawn once whereas the Nomads are itching to improve their standing as they are on an unfashionable second from the bottom with a single point from four games.

The cops, could once again, be without their three key midfielders John ‘CJ’ Banda, Phillip Masiye and Micium Mhone who are with the national team.

Eagles coach Deklerk Msakakuona said as of yesterday morning, none of them had been dropped from the squad.

“Maybe one or two of them could be dropped, but we are planning on the players that we have and preparations have gone on well so far,” he said.

Msakakuona said their aim is to continue with their good run, especially having been frustrated by rookies Airborne Rangers last weekend. Eagles twice came from behind to force a 2-2 draw, bringing to an end their 100 percent league record.

Msakakuona predicted an exciting game this afternoon, saying both teams are good.

Nomads team manager Kannock Munde said his team is looking forward to a fruitful foray in the capital.

“Blue Eagles are somehow our bogey, but we are prepared for them. Having drawn last week, it is time we engaged an extra gear and start collecting points,” said Munde.

The Nomads will be without goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa and right-back Francis Mulimbika who are also with the Flames.

But they have potential match winners in Cuthbert Sinetre, Innocent Dzimbiri, Mike Kaziputa, Timothy Chitedze, Jacob Ngwira, Kondwani Lufeyo and Omega Mhone.

Eagles will look up to John Malidadi Jnr, Gilbert Chirwa and Charles Ngosi.

In another game, rookies Chikwawa United will be looking forward to claiming their first points in the league when they engage Moyale Barracks in Mzuzu. Chikwawa are second from the bottom with no point from five games.

At Chitowe in Dwangwa, it will be an all military affair when Mafco host Kamuzu Barracks.
