A few weeks after off-loading midfielder Dave Banda, Black Leopards have turned to Malawi again to invite defender Foster Namwela for week-long trials.

The Mighty Wanderers sweeper is expected to leave for South Africa tomorrow for the trials to stretch from August 24-30, said Leopards local scout Kondie Msungama.

“I have the invitation letter which Leopards have addressed to Wanderers chairperson seeking the release of the player,” Msungama said on Thursday.

“Leopards have sent an air ticket. As for Dave, the Leopards chairperson David Thidiela has assured that he will meet all his contractual obligations,” said Msungama.

Leopards released Banda on the pretext that the club’s quota for foreign players was full. But now Msungama said Banda’s departure created room for one more foreigner.

“Thidiela says he has nothing against Malawian players and that is why he still has Harry Nyirenda,” he said.
