Lilongwe boxing club hosts bout

Up-and-coming amateur boxer Robert Kachiza will take on Musa Mkwanda today in a non-title amateur fight at the Lilongwe Community Centre (LCC) ground.

The LCC Boxing Club is hosting the bout to raise funds for buying equipment, the club’s coach Leonard Metazama said yesterday.

“We discussed with all stakeholders and agreed that it will be played over eight rounds in 64 kilogrammes category. It was also agreed that cash prizes for the boxers will be decided after the bout,” Metazama said.

Malawi Boxing Association (Maba) amateur boxing committee and the regional Maba chapter will provide judges, umpires and also issue the clearance for the fight, he said.
