Lilongwe parties with ‘intoxicated’ Wati

Hordes of Lilongwe revellers on Friday partied with Malawi’s losing finalist in the just ended Africa’s leading TV reality series Big Brother Stargame, Watipaso ‘Wati P’ Kulemeka.

Contrary to what Wati told members of the press during his media conference on Thursday upon arrival from Johannesburg, South Africa, that he does not drink much, the former housemate was clearly drunk.

“Waking up everyday throughout 91 days with almost the very same people, same environment it’s not an easy task. And I reckoned that much as I face each day as it comes, I must find solace in something that should give me good company which is beer”, said Wati amid hand clapping and ululation at the Crossroads Hotel.

He also echoed similar sentiments to Big Brother host IK when he questioned his drinking antics.

Quizzed IK: “Do you drink that much Wati in the outside world?” to which the Malawian responded with a big no.

“In the house, sometimes life is boring, not fun as it seems to the outside world and I found good company by drinking more just to pass time,” said Wati on stage shortly after he was evicted during season seven’s grand finale.

However, the lad failed to live up to his word when just a few hours after making that statement, he arrived at the Zansi Night Club for his homecoming party, very drunk, staggering in his tracks.

He appeared on stage, with the help of his cousin and compatriot at the continental series Nafe Kulemeka. He mumbled a few words to the audience before wobbly moving out.
