Limbe Police recovers K3m worth of items

Police in Limbe, over the weekend, recovered items worth over K3 million (about $4 384) suspected to have been stolen from people and houses in Limbe Police policing areas.

Among the items recovered are DVD players, radios, home theatres, laptop computer bags, fans, a wall clock, a video camera, a tripod, speakers, subwoofers, a plasma television set and other small television sets.

Limbe Police Station deputy spokesperson Pedzisai Zembeneko said they have since arrested Kenneth Maganizo, 30, from Ndalama Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Mchilamwela in Thyolo in connection with the break-ins after a tip-off.

In a related development, Blantyre Police Station spokesperson Elizabeth Divala said Police in Soche on Monday recovered 23 car batteries suspected to have been stolen in the townships of Nkolokosa, Chimwankhunda, Naperi, Chitawira and Soche East.

Meanwhile, police are urging people who reported incidences of breaking to the above mentioned stations to go and identify their items among the recovered items. n
