Jamaican reggae musician Luciano, alias Jah Messenger, has written a letter to Malawian fans and released a short video confirming his show on March 28 at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.

“This letter confirms that I, Jephter Washington McClymont [aka Luciano], will be doing an African Tour commencing on March 28 to April 22. Some of the countries I will be touring include South Africa, Malawi and Ghana,” the letter reads.

In the letter, Luciano apologises to his fans for his failure to perform last year and attributed his no show to Ebola scare and an illness that struck him after taking yellow fever medication.

Apart from the letter, Luciano sent a video message confirming the show.

Luciano will perform in Malawi under the auspices of Born Afrikan Productions, which also hosted another Jamaican reggae star Fantan Mojah last year at Lilongwe Golf Club.

In an interview, Born Afrikan Productions events coordinator MphatsoChaluluka confirmed the show, saying all has been set and tickets are already on sale.

“People should not doubt. Luciano is coming. The last time he failed, but we can assure you the reasons that contributed to the failure were beyond the organisers,” he said.

Chaluluka said Carlsberg Malawi will sponsor the show following Born Afrikan Productions’ successful hosting of the Fantan Mojah gig.

“We will make sure that Luciano does a couple of events before he performs on Saturday,” he said.
