Luntha TV station invades Lilongwe

Christian Luntha TV of the Catholic Montfort Missionaries can now be viewed in Lilongwe where Christians and people of other faiths can nourish their spiritual lives through the station’s programmes.

Montfort Media deputy director Fr. Andrew Kaufa disclosed in an interview this week that TV Luntha reached Lilongwe on May 30 2012.

“Before that, there was a signal trial for a week during which our technical team was trying the strength and quality of our picture and sound. Now, we can tell Christian television viewers and all stakeholders that Luntha TV is in the capital, Lilongwe,” said Kaufa.

He said the station is going towards becoming a national TV broadcaster as its license stipulates.

“While we are yet to cover the whole Blantyre due to the challenges associated with terrestrial broadcasting such as mountains, we are sure that in Lilongwe, Luntha is reaching out to a broader area because the landscape of the city is fair. As a matter of fact, we believe that viewers in Salima, Dedza and other districts in the Central Region can access the signal” said Kaufa.

For Blantyre, Lilongwe and some districts, the station can be reached on 215.25 for sound and 220.75 for picture.
