Bishop Mackenzie International School (BMIS) will meet Kamuzu Academy (KA) in the finals of the 2012 Central Zone Basketball (Cezobal) Junior League Championship.

BMIS beat SOS Magic 56-49 in the semi-final game played on Saturday at Africa Bible College Gymnasium. KA stunned Kamuzu Barracks 53-43 in another semi-final game played earlier.

According to Cezobal vice-chairperson Barlett Mafuleka, the two teams will meet in the finals on Saturday at ABC.

Meanwhile, in the men’s senior league game, Bayonets collected full points after they beat Alliance One 65-64 at Civo Court.

Bayonets had the upper hand with inspiration from Kondwani Nyanda. They dominated and led the first three quarters 17-12, 33-25 and 51-41 respectively.

Alliance One captain Hope Kanyinji attributed the defeat to lack of experience among his young players.

“Most of our players are young and they are playing in the league for the first time. But they will catch up as we go,” said Kanyinji.

Alliance One anchor the 12-member league with four points from four games.
