Malawi darts youth team starts preps for Zone VI

 

The Malawi national darts youth team goes into camp today to prepare for the Zone VI Youth Tournament to be staged in Windhoek, Namibia from August 24 to 26.

Darts Association of Malawi (DAM) general secretary Chester Kayange said the team is expected to depart for Namibia on August 20, by road.

Kayange, who will lead the delegation, said 16 players are expected to make the trip and will compete in four categories.

Lloyd Tsamba from the Zomba and Districts Darts League (ZDDL), Evance Msimuko and Ephraim Longwe from Mzuzu and Districts Darts League (MDDL) and Mphatso Kachere from Blantyre and Districts Darts League (BDDL) will compete in the 16 to 18 years category.

In the Under-15 boys category, Malawi will be represented by Grecian Kachingwe, Yusuf Juma, Mphatso Kafadala and Rex Chisale Jnr—all from BDDL.

In the girls’ 16 to 18 years age category, there is Vanesa Mafuta (BDDL), Vitima Ziba (MDDL), Mwayi Thewe (ZDDL) and Violet Masina (LDDL) while in the girls’ 13-15 years category there is Vanessa Malinda, Memory Sanjira and Chisomo Taulo (BDDL) and Yasinta Binauli (LDDL).

Other officials making the trip are team manager Charles Katola, Peter Kambalame and Duncan Karim both from DAM while Alice Shawa and John Mbwana are on the technical panel. German Singini will be responsible for logistics. n
