The theme for the day is ‘Malawi night’ and the starlets will pay homage to Malawian music legends, dead and alive.

Some of the songs that will be on the playlist include Ntchito ndi Mumtengo by Malawi Police Band, Nkhujipereka by Wambali, Zina Zinyanya by Ethel Kamwendo and Sometimes I Wonder and Muroyi by Makasu.

In an interview with The Nation, Search for a Star official Anthony Kafuwa, who presided at the rehearsals, said he is impressed with how the contestants are preparing for the day.

“People should prepare to be amazed. These contestants are bringing back memories of most of Malawian greats,” said Kafuwa.

The contestants are battling for the grand prize of K 500 000 (US$1 213.6) and a recording contract.
