The court learnt that on the night of June 27 this year, Mussa went into the waters of Lake Malawi and allegedly stole 15 sanjika fish from Macknon Kondowe’s net.

Further, the court learnt that Kondowe got suspicious after his canoe went missing.

Kondowe told the court: “After I left my nets in the waters, I got surprised to see my canoe missing on the shores of Chikanda fishing camp. I waited and saw Mussa coming from the waters around 2am using my canoe.”

Members of the community policing team arrested Mussa at the scene and took him to police.
