Mibawa plans corporate nights
Owner John Nthakomwa said this on Thursday when the place feted corporate captains with a night of musical classics spanning continents and genres.
Nthakomwa observed that there not many days for corporate entertainment and that “Mibawa’s idea is to create such.”
“We must offer that special entertainment on such special nights,” he said.
Mibawa Band ably threw renditions including Dolly Parton’s Do I Ever Cross Your Mind, Lucky Stars’ Chinafuna Mbale, Queen’s I want to Break Free, Zimbabwe’s famous pick Muroyi, Lionel Richie’s Hello and Percy Sledge’s When a Man Loves a Woman.
Vocalists Eunice Kadzuwa and Jay Jay Kutsokwe were in the right mood, backed by the Lemekeza Phiri and JJ Munthali on keyboards, Godfrey Mbidzi on bass, Donald Muwawa on drums and Manyozo Tchado on guitar.
“The idea is to create something for everyone. We need to strike a balance across audiences. It depends on the people’s feedback,” he said.
Plans are also underway to assemble a jazz and open a restaurant, said Nthakomwa.
