Striker Luka Milanzi is in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to negotiate with his parent club TP Mazembe for a loan release to Mighty Wanderers.

The former Malawi Under-17 captain confirmed from Zambia yesterday that he was travelling to Lubumbashi Province in the DRC where he has four years remaining on his contract.

The 19-year-old could not say when he expects a return to Malawi.

The 2010 TNM Super League joint top scorer has been training with Wanderers for two months, but Mazembe have put their foot down over his release, saying he left the DRC without their blessings and he must return if he is to be cleared.

He has never featured for the star-studded Mazembe senior squad, but spent last season on loan at Zesco in Zambia.

The Nomads, who are struggling to locate the back of the net this season, hope the once-free scoring Escom United attacker can inject life into Wanderers’ attack in the second half of the campaign.
