Former welterweight champion Charles Misanjo has vowed to end Brian Mwando’s reign in their super welterweight title bout at Robin’s Park in Blantyre on July 2.

The fight has been organised by Alufandika Boxing Promotions.

Misanjo who last won a title four years ago, said his unwavering confidence stems from his previous victories against Mwando in non-title fights and his current form.

“Having a title bout against someone I have already beaten twice is something that makes me feel like a winner already,” said Misanjo, whose has 15 wins in 23 bouts. “Of course, Mwando seems to have improved a lot since our last meeting, but he is yet to reach my level. This will be an easy fight for me.”

However, Mwando, who won the belt from Felix Mwamaso  said it is folly for Misanjo to bank on his past victories.

“I do not know how his past victories would be of essence this time around. Tell him he will be reduced to mince meat come the day of the bout. I am a stronger and more aggressive boxer now. At present, I have already completed my preparations and I am just waiting for the big day,” Mwando said.
