“Mawanga, Mjura, Marlyin Chakwera and myself did a project with the Norwegian Embassy in Malawi that is focused on promoting Malawi’s forgotten music. We subsequently recorded a 10-track album which won the hearts of the organisers of the Arts Festival of Northern Norway, securing us a spot at the annual festival in Harstad and later in Zanzibar,” said Mussa.

Mussa said their participation in the festival exposes Malawian music and also gives them a chance to learn new things.

“We will be interacting with artists from all over the world. And we will have a chance to finish the recordings in light of the launch of the project later this year.

“As an individual it is a plus for my career. I have toured many countries and my music is maturing in a different way. As an individual, it is a moment of national pride when travelling for such big festival performances,” said the Desperate hit-maker.

The pack of four will perform in Tanzania at Sautiza Busala and in USA later this year.
