With a cast of 45 actors, the movie is expected to provide a raw and authentic portrayal of the prison system in Malawi exploring its rehabilitation service and the day-to-day lives of inmates.

Production manager Daud Shaib said the movie will be a call to action on how people can take part in helping prisoners.

“We want to show the public the life of inmates and bring awareness on issues affecting inmates,” he said.

The auditions for the movie attracted a turnout of 200 aspiring actors who showed interest and selected 45.

Shaib added that the team is confident that the cast will bring depth and authenticity to the story.

The movie is expected to cost K30 million, but the team is appealing for partners.
