The owner of the club, Franciano Bashani, has sold the name to Chriz Allan team manager Gracious Chinkoma.

Chriz Allan play in Lilongwe and Districts Football League Premier Division and finished on position 12 in 2013 season with 51 points.

Chinkoma said the two teams have merged and will now be called Mponela United.

“I can confirm that Mponela United have disbanded. I have bought the name together with their ground at Mponela. So Chriz Allan will now be known as Mponela United,” said Chinkoma.

LDFL general secretary Bernard Chiwiriwiri Harawa said they are yet to receive official communication on the development.

The former Mponela United squad, which was coached by Benjamin Kumwenda, lost most of its players to Super League teams. The players include Frazer Manyani (Azam Tigers); Fabio Kapinde, Jasi Kamanga and Mude Jeffrey (Eapc FC) and Chakonda Majanga (Blue Eagles).
