Mr 265: I have always told myself I can win the show

The long wait is over. Malawi’s representative to this year’s Big Brother Africa show, dubbed Hoshots, has finally been revealed.

He is Masuzgo Msiska trading under the Mr 265 moniker. The former FM 101 presenter is also widely known as DJ Malick and becomes the third FM 101 DJ to grace the show after Code Sangala and DJ Lomwe.

Mr 265, a popular MC, was unveiled together with Macky2 from Zambia and Mozambique’s Mira.

The soft-spoken 23-year-old Times TV presenter is single and currently studying Purchasing and Supply Management.

According to his Big Brother profile, Mr 265 entered the show because he always thought he could win it, when he used to watch it.

“It’s easy to criticise people on different things, especially when you don’t know how it’s like being in their shoes. I have watched Big Brother for a while and I have always told myself I can win the show, I can do better, but I don’t know what really goes on. So I have given myself a challenge to now step into the shoes I wasn’t wearing before and see how I will walk with them,” he says.

It remains to be seen if Malawi will have another representative just like other countries or not.

Meanwhile, one of Malawi’s season 8 representatives, Fatima Nkata, said Malawi has a good representative capable of winning, but it all goes with the people as they are the ones who vote.

“I’m very happy that Malick, Mr 265 himself, will be representing Malawi this season. We went through the audition process together last year and I was absolutely sure that he would be the one representing Malawi then. He is a highly ambitious young entertainer set on getting far in life.

“From the conversations we’ve had as friends with regards to the Big Brother experience as well as crediting his ambitious streak as an entertainer, I am sure he will stop at nothing to give the Big Brother viewers something to remember. My plea to Malawi is that we give him our full support from day one so that he brings the money home,” she said.

So far, 15 housemates have been revealed by Biggie as the countdown for the grand launch scheduled for October 5 continues.
