MSB ends Christmas bonanza in style
Malawi Savings Bank (MSB) on Wednesday wound up its Christmas Bonanza with drama at Shoprite in Lilongwe.
As part of the promotion, MSB had allocated its two final winners, Julius Makalichi from Dowa and Chimwemwe Bakali from Mchesi in Lilongwe, five and three minutes respectively to shop at the retail chain store.
Makalichi was allowed to shop goods valued at K60 000 (about $120) for five minutes while Bakali was allowed to collect goods worth K40 000.
There was drama as the two scampered inside the shop to utilise the little time allocated and maximise such a time to collect as many merchandise as possible from the shelves, a move that prompted other shoppers to burst into laughter.
In an interview, MSB customer services manager responsible for Capital City Branch Chiyamiko Litta said the two winners had opened the bank’s Super Savings Account to enter the promotion.
He said the last draw for the promotion was conducted on December 23 2014.
