Mpingwe Sports Club’s (MSC) seven cricket teams and Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) have organised an Inter-club Championships which will start at the quarter-final stage in Blantyre on Sunday.

According to the competition’s organising committee chairperson, Saeed Limdawala, the contest, expected to take place at MSC and OCC, aims at strengthening relationship between the two clubs and flexing their muscles after a long off-season break.

“Each team has contributed something to the competition which will help us interact socially. As you know, we have stayed for months without playing our favourite game and we need to go back to business,” said Limdawala.

He said at the MSC, a match between MSC Grey and OCC will hit the field at 8am before MSC Orange takes on MSC Silver at 1.30pm.

“At the OCC, an encounter between MSC Blue and MSC Purple will set the pace for a match between MSC White and MSC Gold Fattani. It will be a busy and exciting weekend for cricket lovers,” said Limdawala who captains MSC Silver.

The semi-finals are expected to be held at MSC next week while the finals are scheduled for May 25 at OCC.
