As Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) and Oriental Cricket Club’s (OCC) Social League enters second week today after month-long Ramadan break, Orange has vowed to maintain winning streak as they host Blue.

The former National Bank of Malawi (NBM) Cricket League champions, who beat hosts OCC 131-94 runs last Sunday, are the only outfit that has won all their four games in the nine-team league.

Orange coach Khalil Badat, whose side had been perennial cricket champions until last year, said although they are facing a hard-to-beat team, they will do their best to keep their record clean.

“We failed to win a trophy last season due of complacency. But now we are serious on our mission to get back to the top and we are determined not to lose even a single game,” he said.

However, Orange should tread carefully on their title-hunt because second placed MSC White and third-positioned MSC Silvers are right on their heels with six points apiece.

NBM defending champions MSC Gold Fattani, who made 122runs in 18overs to beat MSC Black, will tussle against MSC Purple at the MSC this Sunday.

According to the competition’s coordinator Saeed Limdawala, each team will play a total of eight games to complete their fixtures.
