Mutharika ill —State House

State House in Malawi has officially announced that President Bingu wa Mutharika fell ill at about 11am and was rushed to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in the capital, Lilongwe.

 

In a statement monitored on State broadcaster Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Radio One, State House said the President’s condition was stabilised at the hospital.

It further said Mutharika will be flown to South Africa this evening for further treatment and the Malawi nation will be updated on the President’s health.
