My first album was a flop-Muva

Rarely do musicians admit that their first compositions were a flop due to immaturity, but Mzuzu-based budding gospel artist Daniel Donnex Muva has come in the open to say his best is in his second album.

Muva said this on Sunday when announcing about his return. He is returning with a 12-track album titled Yesu ndi Thanthwe.

“I am glad that some people liked my first album, but to be sincere, there was no creativity because I was just starting out. My fans should wait to listen to my new album to appreciate the real talent in me,” boasted Muva.

He said Yesu ndi Thanthwe is being recorded at Llohay Sound Control in Blantyre by gospel artist and music producer Lloyd Phiri and is expected to hit the market mid September.

Among the hits expected to thrill the fans, according to Muva, are the title track, Ndifunitsa and Messiah.

Muva explained that his return will be welcomed with thrilling CD launch shows across the country effective October.

The 21-year-old stormed the gospel music industry in 2009 after releasing his debut Nthawi ya Manna Inatha. According to the artist, the album has sold about 2 000 copies.

Despite being a budding artist, Muva has featured in almost every gospel show that has been held in the entertainment-starved city of Mzuzu since 2010.
