The Mzuzu Lions Club on Friday retained Lion William Mbobe as its president at its charter dinner at Sunbird Mzuzu.

In his acceptance speech, Mbobe said he was humbled and honoured by the confidence shown by fellow lions in maintaining him as Mzuzu Lions Club president for another lionistic year.

He said the club would continue to support the needy and vulnerable in society to remain true to the Lions’ spirit.

“We also want to impart the Lions Club spirit of service by establishing a Leo Club at Mzuzu University,” Mbobe said.

Currently, Mzuzu Lions Club runs projects at Malokotela School, Ekwendeni and Nkhata Bay schools for the visually impaired, Bandawe School for the Deaf besides providing bursaries to needy pupils in various schools.
