Nchalo go one point clear
Nchalo United went one-point clear in the Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League Premier Division after a 4-1 defeat of Prison United on Sunday at Kalulu Stadium.
The second win, after thrashing Chikhwawa United 3-0 on Saturday, has taken Nchalo closer to Super League return on 50 points from 20 games.
Chikhwawa United made amends on Sunday when they defeated BNC Produsak 1-0.
In another encounter on the same day, Rock United eased their troubles after beating Bangwe All Stars (formerly Polychem All Stars) 3-1.
Bvumbwe Research, who had led the standings for some weeks, had to be content with a second-place on 49 points from 24 games after edging Tigers Reserve 1-0 also on Sunday.
In the Golden Boot Award chase, Henry Bikoko of Brave Warriors and Bvumbwe’s Vincent Chinthega are the leaders with 15 goals apiece.
