Scored on the 33rd minute: Ng’ambi

Midfield dynamo Robert Ng’ambi, on his third attempt, finally scored for Platinum Stars whereas University of Pretoria (UP) striker Atusaye Nyondo netted again on Wednesday night in the South Africa Premiership.

Ng’ambi scored on the 33rd minute for Stars in a 2-0 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces at the Mbombela Stadium with Vuyo Mere getting the other goal from the penalty spot on the 15th minute.

In the other game, Nyondo, who only scored seven in 23 games last season, made it two goals out of two games when UP beat Chippa United 2-1.

UP went ahead after three minutes at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium when Massa burst forward before chipping the ball over advancing Chippa goalkeeper Tshepo Motsoeneng, reports Kick-Off.com.

On the 33 minute, Nyondo hammered in a powerful low drive after taking the ball down neatly on his chest. David Zulu claimed Chippa’s consolation.

So far, Frank ‘Gabadinho’ Mhango of Bloemfontein Celtic is the only Malawian striker yet to score in three games, including 1-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs in Johannesburg. Defender Limbikani Mzava was also in Celtic action.

In Zimbabwe, Gerald Phiri Junior and Ishmael Thindwa came on as second-half substitutes joining on the pitch compatriot defender George Nyirenda as Caps United managed a goal-less draw against Shabanie Mine in Bulawayo.
