Foundation for the Integration of Culture and Human Rights (FICuHR), a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) has been invited to represent Malawi at the World Alliance of Religions for Peace (Warp) Summit in South Korea scheduled for September 17 to 19 2014.

FICuHR works with rural and urban communities in the country to fight poverty, preserve peace and promote human rights.

A statement from Man Hee Lee, chairperson of the Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HCWPRL) which issued the invitation letter to FICuHR, says the meeting will attract leaders from various countries and organisations in support of world peace.

“Of foremost concern during this summit will be the discussion of an interfaith constitution, allowing our different ideologies and philosophies to recognise their capacity for coexistence and, more importantly, collaboration in pursuit of peace,” reads the statement in part.

FICuHR executive director Marko Zambezi said in an interview that his organisation is committed to advocating peace, unity and tolerance of cultural beliefs.

“I am humbled to be part of this important piece of history and I will work hard to contribute towards world peace and unity,” Zambezi said.

The summit, which will feature more than 10 former heads of State to speak on world peace and stability, will also include discussions facilitated by top peace -making organisations.
