The Flames 2014 World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday grossed K12.3 million (about $49 200) FAM chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda said on Sunday.

The gate takings were expected to be more considering that estimated 30 000 tickets, most going at K750 per ticket for the open terraces, were sold.

The most expensive seat at the VIP was pegged at K12 000, K6 000 for the Covered Stand while MBC seat cost K3 000.

But Nyirenda insisted that some tickets were not sold; hence, the association is satisfied with the figures.

“I only have the gross, I am yet to get the breakdown of how much we will be entitled to after all the deductions,” said Nyirenda.

Government, as ground owners, get 25 percent from the gate proceeds. The stadium capacity is pegged at 35 000 though some argue that it can take up to 45 000 fans.
