Chipiku Plus and Chipiku Stores have assured the Lilongwe and Districts Football League (LDFL) of continued sponsorship in the forthcoming season kicking off on June 7 2014.

LDFL chairperson Dini Josaya Banda confirmed yesterday that the sponsor has committed to the football support, but there will be no increase in the package currently at K6 million.

The amount has over the seasons been on the increase but Josaya said the sponsor would not be able to hike it next season due to economic factors.

He said this when asked about the CRFL annual general meeting (AGM) which takes place today at Falls Baptist Church Hall.

“The AGM will start from 9am and each affiliated team is requested to send two officials,” the league said in a statement.

The AGM will also table updates on the delays of the plans to merge the LDFL and the Central Region Football Committee.
