Be Forward Wanderers yesterday taught pompous Karonga United a football lesson punishing the rookies 4-0 in a lopsided TNM Super League encounter at Kamuzu Stadium.

Smarting from a one-all draw against Red Lions on Wednesday, the Nomads had no mercy for the Karonga-based side.

The Nomads scored twice in each half as Joseph Kamwendo announced his return to the Super League with a brace and the other goals coming from Ishmael Thindwa and Jaffalie Chande.

Assistant coach Elia Kananji said the result was a good response to the Wednesday draw.

But it was not all rosy for their rivals Nyasa Big Bullets who were held 0-0 by Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium.

In the first round encounter played at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, the game also ended in a goalless draw.

The Saturday results means Bullets are stationed on position three with  32 points from 18 games while Moyale have moved to position five from six with 29 points from 18 games.

Moyale enjoyed possession but the frontline of Khuda Muyaba and Gastin Simkonda did not utilise the chances.

Zondiwe Munthali supplied all the necessary crosses up front but they were wasted.

Bullets picked up in the second half moving forward to earn a goal, but Moyale goalkeeper Simeon Harawa did his job well.

Speaking in a post match interview, Moyale coach Collins Nkuna expressed concern  over his team’s failure to utilise scoring opportunities they created.

“We played very well. We controlled the game. But we were not sharp upfront,” he said.

However, Bullets coach Lloyd Nkhwazi blamed the referee for the results.

“We played well, but you see what happened. The referee was not on our side. Otherwise, we would have won the game,” he said.

Bullets, who meet Mzuzu University today at the same venue, finished the game a man down following a second yellow card on Miracle Gabeya.

He was shown a second yellow card in second half.
