After wandering in the wilderness for sometime, Mighty Wanderers are back in town.

They had their first sweet outing at the weekend in Dwangwa where they collected full points after beating Mafco and Airborne Rangers by 1-0 margins on Saturday and yesterday respectively.

Sparrow Msowoya was the toast of the weekend in the blue side of town after scoring both goals.

Following the two significant wins, the Nomads are now out of the relegation zone. They have soared five places from the bottom to 10th position with 14 points from 14 games.

At Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, Big Bullets rose from the dead to salvage a point in the last minute of stoppage time through a penalty converted by James Chilapondwa after an Eagles defender handled in the box.

After a goalless first-half, Eagles took the lead in the 83rd minute when Charles Ngosi’s header hit the crossbar and the resultant rebound was deflected into the net by Bullets defender Pilirani Zonda.

And just when the turnout thought Bullets would suffer their second league defeat, they once again lived up to their ‘kumadzulo’ phenomenon whey they converted the late penalty.

Neverthless, Bullets missed the chance to seal a first-round top finish. They will now be hoping that Moyale, who are third on 26 points, should not beat Silver Strikers by a three-goal margin in their last first-round game.

Bullets still top the table with 29 points. Eagles are second on 27 points and they too have wrapped up the first-round.

At half-time, veteran midfielder Fischer Kondowe was named player of the month (June) and got a miniature and K15 000.

Prior to the match, TNM launched the Supporter Mapeto Promotion in style and its public relations and sponsorship manager Limbani Nsapato announced a new reward of K1 million for the team that will be the first to hit 100 000 SMSs.
